Security

Not only do we receive and process sensitive data from some of Australia’s largest organisations, we also host and manage on site over 100 client database solutions which contain over 200 million records of client data.

SEMA’s execution and fulfilment capabilities are built upon the solid foundation of international-standard secure manufacturing facilities.

Data security and privacy at SEMA are paramount. We have over 6,000 online client users accessing these systems on a daily basis, and have engineered these solutions across a broad range of industries including telecommunications, banking & finance, insurance, freight, manufacturing and retail.

We also work very closely with Government agencies such as The Australian Electoral Commission and Australian Taxation Office, where protection and privacy of data is not just expected but is also a legal requirement.

SEMA Network
SEMA utilises a Windows based network system which allows for multiple levels of access rights to be allocated in order to restrict user access. All information pertaining to clients is held under specific directory locations. Each time a user tries to access any file or directory, the system checks their permissions before allowing the appropriate level of access. Where access is granted, this is recorded in the system.

Confidentiality
SEMA takes the confidentiality of our clients’ information extremely seriously and this approach is reflected throughout all aspects of our business. All staff are required to sign confidentiality and privacy agreements as a condition of employment with SEMA. Police record checks are conducted prior to employment, and depending on the nature of the role, additional security checks through the Australian Commonwealth government's security vetting process may also be undertaken.

Building Security
Physical security is a vitally important component of our security plan. Security measures include the use of registered Proxcards to restrict building access, alarms and security cameras strategically located throughout all of our sites.

Security Policy
SEMA has a National Security Policy, which outlines in detail all physical and electronic security measures that are undertaken at its three sites. This policy is owned and enforced by our Chief Information Officer.

SEMA is able to provide additional information regarding security and privacy compliance across any of the above-mentioned areas upon request.
