![]() Data and media guidelinesSEMA can accept a range of data and media types, and will work with clients to ensure that we can use whatever is available. However, these are some industry-standard formats that we accept with certainty to ensure a trouble-free campaign: FormatsTextSEMA can accept text in ASCII, MS Word and Excel, WordPerfect and PageMaker. ImageSEMA can accept images, signatures, logos, and other graphics in TIFF, CorelDraw, PageMaker, PCX, BMP, EPS, high-resolution JPG with minimal compression, etc. DataSEMA can accept data in tab or pipe-delimited ASCII, fixed-length ASCII, MS Excel or Access, etc. SEMA requires a full field layout description including field names, field delimiter and field lengths where applicable for advice to the programmer. The minimum requirement for personal customers should include the following fields: <Title> <FirstName> <LastName> Please call your Client Service Representative or Account Manager for specific instructions on record formats and record layouts for data, text and image. Field layout descriptions can be faxed or emailed. Prior to the first mailing, or if there has been a change to the data structure since the previous mailing, SEMA would prefer to receive a 'test data' file. We could check this test data to ensure no irregularities could affect the IT processing when the 'live data' file arrives. Media typesSEMA can accept the following media types:
Agreement will need to be made on the preferred file transfer protocol prior to data transfer implementation. File transfer methodsEmail transferTo send your files by email, use the following accounts and have 'Attn: Client Service Representative' in the subject line. Please note the maximum file size for attachments is 5MB.
FTP/modem transferFTP/modem is the preferred methods for large file transfer. Please allow 24 hours for account to be established and password and logon IDs to be issued. Please call your Client Service Representative for specific technical details for DAT, DLT, QIC, ZIP, and other media type methods. |
