SEMA leadership changesThe Board of SEMA Group are pleased to announce the appointment of Keith Hunter as CEO of the SEMA Group effective immediately. Keith will succeed Alexander van der Laan who will take the role of Executive Chairman of SEMA Group. Keith has been fully endorsed by all the Board and shareholders as the right person for the job. The role of the Executive Chairman will be to serve and assist him, via leadership of the Board of Directors, in being a truly great successor. Alexander van der Laan: "Keith is my chosen successor and will be a defining CEO. Having joined SEMA more than three years ago as CFO, Keith has shown himself to possess all the skills, care and emotional intelligence to run a big company like ours. As his responsibilities have grown recently to include Technology, I have seen Keith possess a very good understanding about what needs to change (and what needs to remain the same) in our business and our industry. He brings the right mix, as only he could, of change and continuity." “After over half a decade as CEO, my new role, that of Executive Chairman, will be to Chair the Board of Directors acting, hopefully with wisdom and humility, as a check and balance on issues of strategy and performance. The executive aspect of my role will be to provide my fellow Executive Directors with counsel and support on the big issues including customer facing ones. My ability to give good counsel will rest on my ability to see "over the hill" what lies in store for our industry and how SEMA should adapt so that it can continue to grow and diversify its business. We are on the pathway to being a great business and a formidable competitor, and I will continue to guide that. This is and remains a family affair." These changes reflect Alexander’s completion of a five year transformation and growth plan, putting SEMA at a unique cross-roads to embark on another, with both new thinking and also great respect for the past and for the gains that have been made in shaping SEMA as a leading player in the Australian customer communication management space. Keith Hunter: "I am privileged and delighted to take the role of leading SEMA, and I thank the Board and Alexander for endorsing me. What can the market expect from Keith Hunter? Our many fantastic customers can expect perfect continuity in operations, service and support but will benefit from a more participative and strategically relevant customer engagement process. Our competitors can expect us to compete as ever but with even more focus and an increased emphasis on harnessing our IT and service prowess and problem solving skills to put us in a class of one.” For enquiries please contact Keith Hunter on (02) 9554 0000 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
