Business as usual for SEMA through flood crisisFloods have devastated a number of communities in Queensland, and this week Brisbane was hit – quite close to home for SEMA in Brisbane. Fortunately, only a small few in our Brisbane office have been directly impacted, and the hearts of all SEMA staff go out to the hundreds of thousands who have been affected. In response to this we're collecting donations from our SEMA people in all states, and we'll match their generous donations dollar-for-dollar. All money raised will be given to the Premier's Disaster Relief Appeal. For SEMA, it is still business as usual delivering for our clients. We are thankful to be located in Virginia, on the northside of Brisbane, away from the affected areas suffered. Our location is very close to essential services and infrastructure that are required for our business to operate, such as Australia Post's Northgate Mail Centre, Brisbane Airport and the Gateway Motorway, which also remain open. In addition, we have carefully-managed disaster recovery strategies in place to redirect work to our other sites if necessary. We may be impacted by suppliers and delivery contractors who are suffering themselves, but at this point it has not hurt our ability to deliver. Any issues will be carefully managed if and when they arise and we will keep in close contact with our clients, suppliers and transport operators to explore all options to meet our clients' needs. |
