SEMA Hosts Inaugural Innovating to Recovery Event at Sydney Opera House
SEMA recently hosted 100 senior business and government leaders at an event at Sydney Opera House. Joint key note speakers were Greg Stone, Chief Technology Officer Microsoft, and Ken Pettifer, Head of Innovation Division for the Government, providing their perspectives on innovation as a route to recovery. Alexander van der Laan, CEO of SEMA hosted a debate on how businesses should manage innovation at a time when cost out is almost a singular business priority.
SEMA was prompted to host a series of smaller events, leading to this major event by a call to action in the recent Cutler report – the key message for SEMA being “Australia’s innovation policy must focus on strengthening innovation where business enterprises engage with their markets and customers”. SEMA has not reduced its commitment to innovation. In a world where competitive advantage is converging on informational advantage, SEMA connects businesses to their customer communities and governments to their citizens through insight driven communication and innovation is at the core. It is forging deeper relationships with its clients, partners and suppliers to continue innovating and as an outsourcing services provider, continue to enable clients to leverage their unique business and customer data to maximise their business performance. Find out more about the event itself through Alexander’s blog.
This series of activity confirms SEMA’s thought leadership on Innovation but also an Australian company that cares about the economic recovery and is willing to invest in Innovation to assist in Innovating to Recovery.
