Our formal operational excellence framework combines business process improvement strategies and methodologies. Quality assurance standardsSEMA has been a quality assured organisation since 1995, and is currently registered to the standard AS/NZS ISO9001:2008. As part of this certification, we conduct internal audits and also welcome client audits as part of contractual obligations. Australia Post partnerAs a Bulk Mail and business improvement partner with Australia Post, SEMA utilises stringent processes that reconcile all lodgements down to file level. This is far more comprehensive and sophisticated than stream/cell or job based lodgements in terms of reconciliation and integrity. Risk management and business continuityAs with all significant projects, risk is a key factor and must be a prime consideration of any potential business partner. SEMA has significant experience in transitioning of projects from in-house to outsource or from outsource providers and have proven risk mitigation strategies to ensure successful and secure transition. SEMA has completed risk management assessments and developed business continuity plans for the production of all services performed, which was developed in-line with standards. SecurityNot only do we receive and process sensitive data from some of Australia's largest organisations, SEMA also hosts and manages on-site over 100 client database solutions that contain over 200 million records of client data. SEMA's execution and fulfilment capabilities are built upon the solid foundation of international-standard secure manufacturing facilities. Data security and privacy at SEMA are paramount. We have over 6,000 online client users accessing these systems on a daily basis, and have engineered these solutions across a broad range of industries including telecommunications, banking and finance, insurance, freight, manufacturing and retail. We also work very closely with government agencies such as The Australian Electoral Commission and Australian Taxation Office, where protection and privacy of data is not just expected but is also a legal requirement. SEMA networkSEMA utilises a network system that allows for multiple levels of access rights to be allocated in order to restrict user access. All information pertaining to clients is held under specific directory locations. Each time a user tries to access any file or directory, the system checks their permissions before allowing the appropriate level of access. Where access is granted, this is recorded in the system. ConfidentialitySEMA takes the confidentiality of our clients' information extremely seriously and this approach is reflected throughout all aspects of our business. All staff are required to sign confidentiality and privacy agreements as a condition of employment with SEMA (see also our privacy policy). Police record checks are conducted prior to employment, and depending on the nature of the role, additional security checks through the Australian Government's security vetting process may also be undertaken. Building securityPhysical security is a vitally important component of our security plan. Security measures include the use of registered proximity cards to restrict building access, alarms, and security cameras strategically located throughout all of our sites. Security policySEMA has a security policy that outlines, in detail, all physical and electronic security measures that are undertaken at its sites. This policy is owned and enforced by our Chief Information Officer. |
